František Herman (KEF FMFI UK):
Current advanced theory methods and experimental techniques in superconductivity

Abstract:
Superconducting behavior was discovered more than 100 years ago.
In my colloquially tuned talk, I introduce and discuss at least some of the
hottest results in this research area. Part of my seminar will be
dedicated to the introduction of the model-independent, but yet model
tested, extraction technique of the so-called gap function. My aim is to
present and describe a method that does not require some of the
assumptions presented in the previous seminar*. Due to the character of
the audience, I will focus on the mathematical point of view which means
mainly the usage of the eigenfunctions of the Hilbert operator which
show to fit the solution of the problem in a suitable manner. I believe,
that once successfully implemented in experimental data processing, this
method could allow us to get a more detailed description of the
pair-creating and pair-breaking mechanism in the superconductive state.

*Attendance of the previous seminar is not a necessary condition to
understand this one.
