Diffusion-driven solidification over a moving substrate:
asymptotic self-similar solutions
Abstrakt:
We will discuss the problem of solidification of a binary alloy,
cooled from a horizontally moving substrate.
The mathematical formulation consists of a system of diffusion
and advection-diffusion equations, along with a free boundary
separating the solid and liquid phases.
During the talk, we will present asymptotic self-similar solutions
for the temperature and concentration fields
in the limit of small Prandtl and large Lewis numbers.
