Does auction feedback really matter? If so, why, and for whom? Evidence from the FPA

Abstract
We analyze the effect of varying post-auction feedback  on bidders' bidding behavior and on their reported beliefs regarding their opponents behavior in the first-price sealed-bid auction (FPA). We do so both in the case of the opponent being a computer and in the case the computer being a human. We further elicit beliefs in a treatment where bidders have no control over their bids. Contrary to previous findings in the literature we do not find a systematic effect of feedback on bidding behavior. In further results, we explore the effect of feedback on beliefs about the opponent’s bid.

Účasť na seminári prosím potvrďte emailom na adrese matus.senaj@nbs.sk.
