ZIC plc Slovakia was established in September 2006 and is providing actuarial services for
General Insurance and Life Insurance to support European and Latin American business units.
The Zurich Insurance Company in Switzerland has set up a specific Life Actuarial team in
Bratislava in 2009. 14 analysts and model developers are currently providing life actuarial
services in areas such as risk management, model development, reporting and corporate
governance.
ZIC has decided to double its Life team in Slovakia, particularly influenced by the resource
needs likely to arise from the Solvency 2 and IFRS 4 Phase 2 requirements.

Functions:
Actuarial Model Developer/Actuarial Analyst

Role description:

1. Development, maintenance and testing Life Actuarial models in various countries (Prophet or
Moses based),
2. Further development of existing Asset Liability Strategy stochastic library that Zurich has
developed,
3. Build up life actuarial knowledge and use this expertise to validate output resulting from the
models,
4. Reporting (MCEV, IFRS, Solvency 2),
5. Financial data management (interfaces, data markets)
Education:
Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Statistics, Insurance maths,
Econometrics, Financial maths, Engineering, IT

Knowledge / Skills:

1.
Interest in the technology of Finance and Insurance Mathematics.
2.
Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Access and VBA.
3.
Additional knowledge of computer languages desirable.
4.
Pronounced interest in the programming activity is preferred.
5.
Willingness to independently and speedily become acquainted with new and varying
topics.
6.
Development as a certified actuary will be actively supported by ZIC.
