How can quantitative risk modeling assist in taking risk management decisions? The purpose of this workshop is to provide a platform to share insights, experiences and assessments from key players in academia, (re)insurance industry, and government authorities on the risk of extreme natural events. Challenges related to modeling and risk management of natural disasters will be presented and discussed.
An opening keynote address will be given by Dr. Robert Glasser, Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Disaster Risk Reduction, United Nations.
