Summary:
This thesis deals with the existence and multiplicity of positive and sign-changing solutions of a non-linear second order ordinary differential equation with symmetric non-linear boundary conditions, where both of the non-linearities are of power type. It extends known results to a larger set of parameters, as well as provides answers to two long-standing open questions. The main tool is the shooting method.
